Veterinary Services | Digital Radiography
Radiographs or X-rays help evaluate skeletal, cardiopulmonary or chest x-ray, abdominal, reproductive, and urinary systems. Digital radiography is used to allow a safe, more time efficient procedure, providing a more enhanced image than older film xrays. Additional services provided include PennHIP and OFA, which are radiographic screening methods for hip dysplasia evaluation.
PennHIP assess the quality of the canine hip and quantitatively measures canine hip joint laxity. The PennHIP method of evaluation is more accurate than the current standard in its ability to predict the onset of osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease, is the hallmark of canine hip dysplasia.
